How Lessonloft is paid, and what it refuses
Three links can pay us, one we turned down, and the commission figures we will not quote.
How this site makes money
Three links on this site can pay us: Preply, italki and Lingoda. Each one is written in the page as an address beginning /go/, carries rel="sponsored nofollow", and is labelled as a partner link where it appears.
If you book something after following one, the platform may pay us. You pay the same either way, and we are paid the same whichever of the three you pick — which is the specific reason the order on our pages is not for sale.
What we will not say about the money
We print no commission rate, no cookie length and no network name for any of the three, and there is a reason. Of the three, one is signed up through a published in-house programme whose own wording about the rate is ambiguous, one is an in-house programme paid on a referred learner's first credit purchase, and one has no official page we could read at all — its terms appear only in third-party directories that contradict each other about the network, the rate and the cookie.
Quoting a commission we cannot confirm would be exactly the kind of unsourced figure this site refuses everywhere else. So we tell you which links pay and decline to invent the arithmetic behind them.
The links we refused
Cambly. Our own programme list permits it on this site's subject, and we still took no link. On 24 September 2026 cambly.com/affiliates returned a 404 from this machine and its pricing page redirected to a sign-in form, so we could confirm neither that a programme exists nor a single price. It is described in words on the English page and linked nowhere.
Duolingo. It runs no public affiliate programme at all, which is precisely why it can be recommended here without anyone wondering. Where the free answer is the right answer, it appears as an ordinary link that earns us nothing.
Everything free. Trial lessons, language exchange, public libraries and national broadcasters pay this site nothing and are named anyway, because a page about the cost of lessons that hides the free option is an advert.
Things we will not do for money
- No coupon or promo-code pages. They are thin bait and some platforms void unapproved codes anyway, which would cost you the discount you came for.
- No paid placement. Nobody can buy a position, a mention or a kind sentence here.
- No sponsored posts, guest articles or link insertions. Every word is written by us.
- No score we have not earned. There are no ratings out of ten on this site because we have not sat in these classes.
- No promises about your results. Not a level, not a timeline, not a job.
If this changes
A refusal written here is not a mood, it is a commitment: taking a link we have said we refused would mean rewriting this page first, in public, with the reason. That is the whole mechanism, and it only works if the page is specific — which is why Cambly is named above rather than left as a vague principle.
Placeholder note for readers who check such things: until a programme is approved for this domain, the three /go/ addresses point at the platforms' own front doors and earn nothing at all.
