About Lessonloft
Who reads these pages, what we check, and the things we refuse to put a number on.
Who writes this
One person reads the pages, and the same person writes what they say. There is no newsroom here and no panel of experts, and pretending otherwise would be the first thing on this site you could not check.
Lessonloft has not sat in these classes. That is why you will not find a score out of ten anywhere on it. Scoring teachers we have never met, on platforms where the teacher is the product, would be inventing the one kind of number the rest of the site refuses to invent.
What we actually do
We open the platforms' own pages, read what they publish about themselves, and record the day and the currency. Where the same page says two different things — which happened on every marketplace we read — we print both and let the disagreement do the arguing.
- Every figure is dated. Not "as of 2026", but the day.
- Every currency is named. Platforms localise, and a dollar sign we did not see is a guess with punctuation on it.
- Nothing is converted. A converted price is a number no checkout will ever charge you.
- Gaps are printed. Where a page would not show us a figure, the hole and its reason go on the page instead.
- Outcomes are never invented. No timelines, no success rates, no "conversational in N months". Official bodies get quoted with their own caveats; nobody else gets quoted at all.
What we are not
Not a school, not an agent, and not on anyone's side. We do not arrange lessons, we do not hold your money, and we have no relationship with any teacher on any platform.
We are also strictly on the learner's side of the desk. If you are looking for advice on becoming an online tutor, setting up your own classroom, or selling courses, this is the wrong site and we would rather say so than waste your afternoon.
Corrections
Prices move and pages get rewritten, so parts of this site will be wrong before we notice. If you find a figure that no longer matches what the platform shows, write to us and say which page and what your screen says.
Corrections change the page and the date on it together. A figure whose source has vanished comes off the page rather than staying up with a hedge attached — a hedge still reads as a fact to whoever is skimming.
